“OK, I mean this is an item that you’re laying your entire EPIDERMIS on every single night. Wash your sheets by themselves” -Jason
Join Brigid and Elizabeth as they learn all of the things they’ve been doing “insufficiently” when it comes to laundry, and more importantly, how to tackle the task correctly. Jason Ramos, guru of all things house and home, joins the gals for a very illuminating chat discussing everything from mastering the basic steps of laundry (pre-wash, wash, dry) to why you might not be getting the detergent completely rinsed or it takes for-ev-er for your load to dry! And also, pop over to our Instagram to see Jason fold the perfect fitted sheet. Jason’s tips:
- Pre-Wash: Sort by color, then by use/size. Like colors + fabrics wash together.
- Whites = higher temp. Darks=cold.
- Large/bulky = wash alone.
- Wash: Temps are cold, warm, hot. Modes are delicate, permanent press, regular.
- Hot = anything you want to sanitize (sheets, towels, etc.)
- Cold = color-rich, dark clothes made of cotton or woven natural fabric.
- Delicate = bras, silks, fragile items.
- Regular = everything else!
- Dry: Different clothes require different drying!
- Drying rack = delicate sweaters, bras, loosely woven fabrics.
- Dryer = most things.
- Sunlight & fresh air = Jason’s pick for drying anything!
